3-Amino-1-adamantanol is an adamantane drug mainly used in the synthesis of inhibitors with antihyperglycaemic properties for the preparation of Vildagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
